Joe, Chad, Jody, Jacob and Family,
Gayle was a force of nature, but not in a forceful way. My first memories of her are from Chad and my cub scout years, followed by peanut football at Glade Hollow, and then most memorably as leading our youth group at church! Together, Gayle and Joe provided a safe and fun space for so many of us who needed just such a place in our lives. As a parent myself now, I more fully appreciate the amount of time and energy Gayle and Joe provided us. I don't know how they did it. Working all day in their busy store and then spending countless weeknights, evenings, and weekends with our youth group, sports leagues, and volunteer projects. And they did this for YEARS! I am most thankful for the example of selflessness and unconditional love Gayle provided my sister and I...She truly personified the golden rule. I will have lived a truly worthwhile and purposeful life if I share myself and "love thy neighbor" even a fraction of what Gayle did. I will always be thankful to her--and to your family for sharing her with the rest of us! If ever there was an Angel on Earth it was Gayle!
