Condolence: My heartfelt condolences to Sue's family and friends. I have not seen Sue for many years, but remember her well from her work with the Tompkins Cortland Labor Coalition when I was involved many years back. Sue was a good spirit and an inspiration for the work we all were committed to doing; and, I know she continued in that commitment long after I worked with her. Her thoughtfulness about her fellow human beings made a difference in this world. None of us can hope for more. Please know that many people you do not even know are mourning her passing. I echo the thoughts of many in the labor community when I express my caring for all of you, her family and friends, in this difficult time.

Condolence: Sue was a true friend with a heart of gold. She would often make concerns of others a higher priority than her own. She was a courageous fighter for the rights of workers and all of us in the Labor Movement have lost a dear friend. She will be missed.

Condolence: I am a recently retired legal aid attorney who served the poor in Schuyler and Chemung County for over four decades. I knew and worked with Sue for over two decades. She was a friend. I met her after a small in-service training I did in Watkins for various agency people, included her. She brightened up in the meeting when she realized that she could help long term unemployable residents on welfare get federal disability benefits and in the bargain save the county taxpayers tens of thousands of dollare in returned benefits, reduced Medicaid charges and removal of people from the local assistance rolls. Over the years, she saved the County hundreds of thousands of dollars in public assistance and Medicaid money in doing so. She became my go to person, and a phone call to her solved so many problems, including helping us keep the our state contract to get people off welfare. She was very smart, agency wise, knew everybody - good and bad, had a wry sense of humor that I loved, and showed a great work ethic. One would call her number after hours, expecting to leave a message, and she was there in person.

I heard of her death in a local TV newscast, but our local newspaper of record did not publish her name, saying only that officials would need time make a positive identification. The paper has never published her death notice. I found this obituary by searching the funeral homes.

Suffice it to say, I and my colleagues at legal aid are greatly saddened by her passing, and we will miss our interactions with her.

Condolence: Heartfelt condolences to Family, friends and work family. She was more like a sister than a co-worker and friend. One of those "Mighty Girls" in a humble way.

Condolence: Sue was always right there for all of us. Even on a Friday afternoon at 4:45 pm, I could always find her at her desk. What a special soul. When I picture her though, it will be all tore up from the raccoon attack because she was saving her kitty. You are so loved and will be missed by so many. Love always, Lis

Condolence: Sue was always kind and helpful. Her mother lived at Jefferson Village, as did my mom. We would chat there in the hallway on our way to visit. She was so bright and determined. Taken in a tragic fire...Rest in Peace.
