Obituary for Carolyn Yanelli (Glance)

Carolyn Yanelli (Glance)
Carolyn Yanelli, 94, wife of fifty-one years to the late James Yanelli, Sr., died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 surrounded by her children and family. Born in Hartford on October 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Ruppert) Glance. She grew up in Indian Neck and graduated from Branford High School and St. Frances Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Yanelli was employed by the Bradley Home as the Director of Nursing prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Carolyn was an avid reader; she also loved opera and spending time in her garden. Most important to her, however, was her role as devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Jonni Griffin and her husband Mike of Poughkeepsie, NY; her sons, James Yanelli, Jr. of Meriden and Jason Yanelli, Sr. and his wife Doreen of Meriden; three grandchildren Michael Griffin, Lauryn (Yanelli) Parziale, and Jason Yanelli, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; a much-loved niece, Deb; a special family friend, Art, and several other cherished nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Friday, April 06, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial, 35 Center Street, Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning prior to the service from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice, 267 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451.
