Russell Wayne Rock, 65, Hulbert resident, died Monday April 9, 2018 in Tahlequah.

Born June 28, 1952 in Checotah, OK he was the son of Cal and Fannie (Potts) Rock. On September 6, 1978 he was married to Dorothy Dowden in Carthage, TX. Russell was a veteran of the US Army. He had worked as a dispatcher in the oil and energy industry for over 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns, riding horses and just being outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandbaby Brinley Rock. For the last twelve years his constant companion had been his dog Punkin.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Rickey Dowden and wife Karen and Michael Rock both of Kilgore, TX and Amber Rock of Hulbert; one granddaughter, Brinley Rock; his sisters, Sharlet Head, Clydene Rock, Melodye Pipes and Judy Preble; his best friends, Bill Rogers, Gaylond Frazier and Kelly Wheeler and many nieces nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Saturday April 14, 2018 in the Carr Creek Cemetery with Rev. Sam Dunn officiating. Viewing will be 8 am – 8 pm Friday at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 pm to 7 pm Friday.
