Obituary for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Piazza (Morgia)
East Greenbush-Elizabeth "Betty" Morgia Piazza, 80, passed away on April 9, 2018 at the Van Rensselaer Manor after an extended illness. Born to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Leisenfelder) Morgia of Rensselaer. Betty was a wonderful cook who enjoyed bingo, working in her garden and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Angela (Scott) Hansen of East Greenbush; grandchildren Vanessa, Matthew and Zachary Hansen; brother Thomas (Lavina) Morgia of Rensselaer along with nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Victor Morgia of Nassau. Betty's family is very grateful to the kind and caring staff of the Van Rensselaer Manor, A-1 Unit.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11am in the W.J. Lyons. Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9am. Interment will follow the service in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
