Growing up, the best part about fall coming was the family picnic. It was always a ton of fun seeing all different family members together at Hoyt Farm. We even brought our other cousins from my mom's side with us a few years and we had a great time running around when we were little. Me and my sister looked forward to it especially because it meant Aunt Janet would stay with us for the weekend. I would always get so excited when I saw her car in front of our house after school knowing that she was there along with her dogs. I would be so grateful when I got to see her those days, saying goodnight before bed and waking up to chat with her in the morning. Heidi always seemed nervous around us. I wish I had known all I had to do to get her to warm up to me was walk in the room with a donut, I would have done it years ago! We were very lucky to have Aunt Janet in our lives, and I'm glad I was able to say goodbye. I love her and will miss her very much.
