Ruby V. Marquez, 99, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018. She was a housewife who was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and was formerly a resident of Valdez, Colorado.

Ruby was born on November 28, 1918 to Jose Inocencio Vallejos and Elicita (Torres) Vallejos. She graduated from Trinidad High School. On November 29, 1942 she married Tony Marquez in Trinidad, Colorado.

She was fond of riding horses, fishing, camping and dancing. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by granddaughter, Diane Weed; grandson, David Noe; 2 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Brandon Weed; niece, Mary Jane Rhodes (husband, Ray); niece, Shirley Sanchez; grand-nephews: Christopher and Jonathan Rhodes; and several more grand-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A second visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. with a Mass at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels following the service. Please feel free to attend the entombment or go directly to the reception at Olive Garden, 513 Academy Blvd. near the Citadel Mall.
