My Amazing Papa
My Papa was absolutely one of a kind. I was so lucky to have him by my side for 23 years. He is the strongest most selfless man I know. He taught me love, respect, kindness, patience, and sticking up for myself. From guitar lessons to building our shed in the backyard, I watched my grandfather do a variety of things not many people can do. He was beyond talented. Our camping trips and Atlantic City trips are so vivid in my memory and they will always stay fresh in my head as some of my favorites. I remember coming home from school, telling Papa how well I did on my tests, and him being so proud of me (especially my Italian tests). Over the last couple years as our conversations dwindled, our connection did not. All it took was me sitting next to him in the living room to have the best time. Sometimes silence is more meaningful and I realize that now, just his company was all I needed. My papa was a fighter who just two weeks ago told me "I lived my life, now it's your turn." I will continue on holding him in my head and heart, living life to the fullest, and strive every day to make him proud of me. I love you Papa, and I will see you later.
