Obituary for Gisya Gutshteyn
Brooklyn, NY – Gisya Gutshteyn, 90, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at NY Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.
Born in Odessa, Ukraine to the late Joseph Shvartz and Lubov Gatker, Gisya immigrated to the United States in 1980. She resided in North Bergan before settling to Brooklyn in 39 years ago.
A talented seamstress, she enjoyed making beautiful and top quality clothing for her loved ones. Gisya also loved to read and taking walks.
Predeceased by her husband who died in 1998, Kasyel; surviving are her daughter, Malvina Schwartz and husband Eugene of South Plainfield and son, Sam Gutshteyn and wife Nanalia of Brooklyn. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Michael and wife Anna, Gary and wife Basil, Shelly and husband Tony and Evita and husband Steven as well as her six great grandchildren, Kaley, Brianna, Emily, Gavin, Connor and Liya.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 11-12PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
Burial will follow in Hebrew Cemetery, South Plainfield.
