Obituary for Robert C. "Bob" Anderson
Dateline Bordentown
Robert “Bob” C. Anderson, 92, of Bordentown Township, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Bob was born, raised and educated in Hightstown, NJ, before moving to Bordentown where he resided for the past 72 years. He served in the US Navy and was in the amphibious force during World War II. After his service, he met and married the former Doris “Dotty” Dooner. Bob retired in 1993 from North American Marine Salvage in Fieldsboro, NJ after 37 years of service. He was also a member of the Bordentown City Special Police Officers.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Dotty Anderson; his mother, Helen Gilliland; his sisters, Doris Spoletini (Morris) Anita Graf (Joe), brothers, Marvin Gilliland (Elsie) and Ronald Gilliland (Donna). Bob is survived by his daughters Barbara Page and Terri (Martin) Temple; grandchildren, Gary Anderson, Brian Anderson, Gregory (Brittany) Temple, Randi (Daniel) Roohr, and Megan Temple; great grandchildren, Michele Brazell, Carly Anderson, Cole and Jace Roohr, and Gavin and Madison Temple; great-great grandchildren, Addisyn, Carter and Peyton Brazell; sister, Diane (George) Reedy, sister-in-law, Shirley Rosetti and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a thoughtful, caring person who loved being around his family. He had a special place in his heart for animals, and he was an avid Phillies “phan.”
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Bordentown City Cats 11 E Church St, Bordentown, NJ 08505
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 26 2018 9:45 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals. Calling will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00~8:00pm and Thursday morning from 9:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Brig. Get. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
