Condolence From: Pat Conway
Condolence: Sorry to hear this! Gene was a kind neighbor in Mercer. We lived a few doors away from each other on Spider Lake. My best memory of Gene is spending time drinking German beer together and talking by his fireplace during the winter. I heard the beer frig and tapper from downstairs was sold at the estate sale. Boy, I wish I had know about the sale....Gene has inspired me to be a kind old guy some day and share a beer and a story with some new young neighbor. Also, he always waved and often stopped to chat when driving by our place and I was outside. Good guy. I am sad to not have Gene around anymore, but happy to have spent time with him. It was just a few years ago that I asked for advice to install a new light fixture and to my amazement, he came over, climbed a ladder and did it for me. Cool

Condolence: To Gene's Family, I know your parents from Golden Age. I have rarely met a man with such dedication & compassion for his wife in my 40 yrs of working in long-term care. He was a spectacular man. Not only did I work at GA, but my Dad was also a resident, that your Dad took time to acknowledge. My heart breaks that we lost this angel on earth. So sorry for your loss.
