Doris E Berdan
Doris E. Berdan, age 97, of Stevens Point passed away Thursday morning April 26, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday May 4, 2018 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM on Friday until the time of services at the church. Shuda Funeral Service of Stevens Point is assisting the family.
Doris was born October 9, 1920 in the Town of Stockton, the daughter of John and Grace (Breitenstein) Berdan. She attended schools in Stevens Point, graduating grade school from St. Stephens in 1934, Emerson High School in 1938, and later Business College.
Doris enjoyed working with people as a secretary at Sentry and Delta Dental. She enjoyed her faith, the symphony orchestra, theater, and traveling. One of her favorite trips was to the Holy Land.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Madeline Kalkofen and brother John "Jack" Berdan. Local survivors include Nephew Fred (Barbara) Kalkofen, great nephew John Kalkofen, great niece Christine (Steven) Mancl and children Brook, Peyton and Owen, as well as many close friends. Nephews and Nieces also include Tom (Marilyn Kramer) Berdan, Jim Berdan, Bob (Theresa) Berdan, Mary (Phil) Noack, Susan Berdan and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Portage County Health Care Center and Hospice for providing excellent care.
