Condolence: Dear Johanna and family,
I'm writing with my condolences. John was a mentor and friend to me. Though I never had him as a teacher in the classroom, he directed me in several plays and was/is a positive influence in my life. So much so that we stayed in touch long after high school and I have fond memories of meeting all of you (on more than one occasion) and of some of you even meeting my husband and our two children not long ago. I am deeply saddened that John has died, and I want you to know that I am another person who will continue to carry him in my heart and memory. I wish you all the best in this sad time.
