AUGUSTA, MAINE
Vicki G. Grenier, age 82, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Glenridge following a long illness. She was born on the family farm in Pittston, ME on April 15, 1936 a daughter of the late Robert and Mildred P. (Brown) Allen.
Mrs. Grenier was a graduate of Bridge Academy and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She had been employed for over 25 years with USF&G Insurance Company and had previously worked for several years with Macomber, Farr and Whitten Insurance.
Vicki loved watching her Boston Red Sox, especially Dwight Evans, and was very proud of the time she caught a foul ball back in 1982.
Mrs. Grenier was pre-deceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Norman R. Grenier; a daughter, Deborah O’Connor; a great grandson, Dominic Andrews; three brothers: Robert, Wilfred and Frederick Allen and a sister, Charlotte MacPhelemy.
She is survived by a son, Timothy Grenier and his girlfriend Rita Gossett; a daughter, Alice Ostertag and her husband David; a brother, Stephen Allen; two sisters: Ernestine “Sheree” Dulac and June Bruce; grandchildren: Stacey Beckim and her husband Shane, Stephanie Trudeau and her husband Derek and Steven Crochere and his wife Chelsea, great grandchildren: Devin, Kalee, Stephen, Sebastian and Caitlyn as well as several other grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends in Florida. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at the Inn at City Hall and the staff at MaineGeneral Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed to Vicki during her time in their care. Special thanks to Carol Deluco for always being there for Vicki.
At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 17th at 10 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial with committal prayers will follow in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
