Helen J. (Winiarski) Krowka, 103, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Stanley "Curly" Krowka, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Winiarski, she had lived in Hartford all her life. Helen was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1933A and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Prior to her retirement she was employed at Royal Typewriter Co, where she met Curly, her loving husband of 45 years. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing, and entertaining friends and family. She enjoyed bingo and spending time at her summer home in Westbrook.
She leaves her daughter, Carolyn Modean of Manchester; a grandson, Donald Modean of Manchester and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Helen was predeceased by a son, Robert Krowka and two brothers, Edmund and Stanley Winiarski.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, (May 17), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford.
