Condolence From: Jim Dziewik
Condolence: I had the distinct pleasure of working with Joan, first as a Stridel then as a Gardner. I worked beside Joan and it was always an amazing fun-filled time. Joan was a great friend, mentor and I will be forever grateful for her part in my life

Condolence: Joan’s smile would light up the room, and I never saw her without a smile on her face. She was the most welcoming presence at the Chef’s Garden and Truffles. I’ve no doubt that she was as good a mom as has ever come down the pike. Phebe and I are heartbroken, but we know that the bright light that Is Joan will never go out. We were blessed to have known her.

Condolence: Joan was my friend for 46 years. We met in college and somehow managed to stay in touch even though we lived far apart. When together we relished our regular Saturday morning stroll on the Naples beach, “walking and talking” as Joan called it. Joan had a wry sense of humor, a complete lack of vanity and zero tolerance for self pity. She was incredibly generous, thoughtful and worked harder than anyone I have ever known.
She embodied the phrase “ beautiful inside and out” and I am forever grateful that she was a part of my life.

Condolence: Joan was a woman of passion. She loved deeply, was fiercely loyal, had a moral compass made of steel, worked hard, laughed easily--all the while being laid back and welcoming. She was not a cook, but was smart enough to marry the best one in Florida! She was artistic, creative, and generous. A very bright light has been doused, but truly the memories she left all of us will live on.
