“Devoted To Her Family”

WATERBURY– Dorothy E. Smikle age 91 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18th 2018 at the Autumn Lakes Health Care Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, after an extended illness.

Dorothy was born December 28 1926 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Leroy and Clara (Morkis) Cooke. She was educated in local schools and was a devoted and loving homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards and crafts but was always happiest while spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy will be remembered for her unique sense of humor and her annual April fools jokes and the love she shared with her family.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Patricia Perillo and her husband, Lou of Waterbury as well as her son in law, Rocky Capobianco and her three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elaine Capobianco.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the doctors and staff at Autumn Lakes Health Care Center and The Hartford Health Care At Home Hospice program especially; Lisa, Paula, Lourdes, Bridget and Cecelia for the wonderful care and support they provided to Dorothy and her family during her illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smikle will be held privately at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd.
