Condolence: Met Archie back in the late sixties. He taught me the ropes of being a server at the Shelter Island Chart House in San Diego and started me on a 35 year career in the restaurant industry. What a great guy! We stayed in touch over the years and he will be missed by all those who's lives he touched. Rest in peace dear friend. Bob Hayes

Condolence: Archie was a very kind person who called me "kid" and made sure I caught the bus home from work at Warm Springs Ranch. I was a ski bum then working at the ranch, paying off student loans and getting around without a car. He always made sure I had a safe ride to and from work. And he made sure I had left overs from the kitchen! I still have a Christmas ornament he made for me and it hangs on my tree every year. Archie, you were a genuinely lovely person and will be missed.

Condolence: Archie had a really great life and had so many stories of golf,fishing,skiing and snorkeling.Bartending was always his favorite work environment but he managed The Chart House in Idyllwild CA And was very successful in makeing it an amazing restaurant ,He could do anything and everything within the restaurant.

I am grateful to have had the time that I had with him ,he tought me and my siblings many things we needed to learn about life.Thanks Archie and see you in heaven.

Condolence: First time ever on this site and shocked to see the person most recently listed as Archie Levitan. I knew Archie well during the two+ seasons spent at Sun Valley in the early 60's. Special memories included a group road trip to Vegas during spring break and many visits to the Opera House, always equipped with chocolate. I adored Archie and always enjoyed reconnecting with him during many visits over many years. I will miss him. R.I.P, dear friend.
