Obituary for Richard` K. Hall Sr.

On June 5, 2018, our fearless warrior fought his last battle and went home to his Lord. " I have fought the good fight... I have kept the faith". II Timothy 4:7-8 Richard K. Hall, Sr., 90, of Milesburg, passed away in Bellefonte. Richard was born on June 10, 1927 in Tyrone, a son of the late Roy and Mabel Peace Hall, Sr.
Richard was the last of his generation.
On April 1, 1949, he married the former Darlene Gardner, who preceded him in death on, October 20, 1983.
On June 28, 1985, he married the former Grace Decker Harter who survives at home. Also surviving are Richard K. (Pam) Hall II of Runville, Marjorie (David) Hall-Petkosh of Lancaster, Candace (Bill) Marion of State College, Melissa (Bill) Jozefick of Snow Shoe, Denise (Randy) Satzler of Lewistown, Dan (Teresa) Hall of Pittsburgh, Robert A. (Dena) Harter of Lemont, and Terry (Marilyn) Harter of State College; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, A. (Jo) Hall of Milesburg, and his daughter-in-law Tacy Hall of Bellefonte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Biloxi and the USS Bunker Hill in the South Pacific. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart with an honorable discharge in 1948.
Richard was a 1945 graduate of Bellefonte High School and attended Lock Haven State Teachers College.
Richard was founder and owner of Nittany Pest Control. He also worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Richard attended the First Baptist Church of Bellefonte, was a life member of the Beech Creek American Legion, and the Bellefonte VFW Post 1600. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed railroads (trains). He was a history buff and loved antiques.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Gardner Hall. He was also preceded in death by his son, C. Michael Hall, grandson, Billie Jo Jozefick, and siblings, John Hall, Bette Breault, Rodman Hall, Marjorie Weir, Roy Hall and Jeanne Rider.
Family and friends will be received at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to Funeral Services on June 9, 2018 from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at The First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating and Pastor Dena Harter assisting. Funeral Services will begin promptly at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Eagle Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co. where Military Honors will be accorded.
