Obituary for Dieshell Lanail Smith

Dieshell Lanail Smith
Dieshell Lanail Smith, 38, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at home. She was born January 15, 1980 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Terry Truss and Patricia (Smith) LeBrun. Dieshell was an amazing daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and most importantly, mother. She was such a strong loving person who went above and beyond for all of those she loved. She would give you the shirt off her back if she thought it would help and open her home to you if you needed it. She had the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She worked hard to provide for her children and taught them that the sky was the limit. They know because of her that they can have anything they want, and achieve all of their goals if they work hard for it. She was a wonderful example of strength and love! She was all of her nieces and nephews favorite auntie. It didn’t matter if the kids were looking for candy or they just wanted to talk she was there with a “go on get what you want ain’t NOBODY gonna say nothing to you in front of me.” Or a “what’s wrong with you? You know you can tell TT! Who do I need to whoop?” She was irreplaceable as a mother, sister, cousin, and friend; many of those in her life wouldn’t have made it through the hard times without her. She loved cracking jokes, telling people what to do, being around her kids family and friends and boy oh boy did she love to shop! It was like an endless journey, when grocery or clothes shopping. She loved going to family functions and events and she loved her sweets and pop, if it taste good to her... it was good for her, and no one could tell her different! Dieshell cherished her faith, always saying “God has the last say in everything!”. She loved reading her bible especially the scriptures she found comforting like Rev 21:4 that talks about God wiping out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more nor sorrow crying or pain be anymore those things would have passed away. We all love her and will miss her so much. We are so proud of her. She put up one heck of a fight, but she doesn’t have to fight anymore. We look forward to seeing her again one day, until then we will cherish all the wonderful memories she left us with.
She is survived by her children, Sierra Smith, Ricardo Reyes, and Morgen Pixley; Father and step mother Terry and Charlotte Truss; siblings, Keisha Smith, Terry Moore, Daqwan Moore, “Little” Keshia Williams, Brittni Truss, Jerry Jones, and Jermaine Jones; maternal and paternal grandmothers Betty Smith, Callie C Truss and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Elder
Dillard of Full Gospel Deliverance Center officiating.
