Obituary for Earl Kenneth Gritzmacher

Earl K. Gritzmacher, 86, died peacefully with his family by his side, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at home.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1931, the son of the late Walter and Dora (Pollack) Gritzmacher. Earl married Lorraine Buetsch on Nov. 22, 1952 in Wausau, WI. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2008.

Earl spent his working career as a maintenance man employed by the Mosinee Paper Mill until his retirement after 44 years. Earl was always willing to lend people a hand, often helping out by doing odd jobs, and roofing houses. His hobbies were plentiful, but his favorites were dancing, listening to Polka music, and fishing.

Earl is survived by his three children; Raymond Gritzmacher, Mosinee, Kenneth Gritzmacher, Mosinee, and Patricia (David) Guyette, Iola; four step-grandchildren, David Guyette Jr, and Sara (Greg) Peterson, both in Scandinavia, Monica Doering, Iola, Heather (Randy) Griswold, Waupaca; great-grandchildren, Nicki, Becca, Jacob, Travis, Violet, Jesse, Autum; great-great-grandchildren, Emmy, Olivia, Jozie and Owen; a sister, Fern (Lyle) Whiting, Merrill. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Iwen, and Verna Goetsch.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, Mosinee. The Pastor Marilyn Lange will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Visitation will be again, Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
