Obituary for Paul E. Heckman

Paul E. Heckman, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Born October 12, 1928, in Fayetteville, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Bessie Perry Heckman.
Mr. Heckman was a bricklayer by trade and his custom stone work can be seen throughout the surrounding area. He was a proud member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 5 and 71 Pennsylvania. An avid hunter, he enjoyed fishing, trapping, woodworking and spending time in his garden.
Surviving are four daughters, Paula Byers (Wayne) of Fayetteville; Rhonda Gift (Mark) of Chambersburg; Alisa Wiegand of Chambersburg; and Amelia Miller of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Monn Heckman, in 2014, three brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. William Dick will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way W, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
