Condolence: He will always be Mr. Morrison to me. When he walked into a classroom you were immediately respectful, but you were very comfortable. I had such respect for him throughout my High School years in Star City, and am thankful to him for
molding me and others for our chosen careers. I had a chance a few weeks before he passed to speak with him at Parkland. although it had been 46 years, he was still Mr. Morrison. To the family - a very great teacher, mentor and human being. Dearly respected.

Condolence: Mrs. Morrison and the whole Morrison family, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. He was a teacher, coach, mentor and friend to my family for so many years. I have so many fond memories of times we spent together. He will be missed by the Melfort community but he left all he met with some wonderful memories.

Condolence: To the Morrison family. My wife Linda joins me in offering my deepest sympathy in Verne's passing.

As I told Janet at the Rams\Huskies game that opened Mosaic Stadium, Verne Morrison made a lasting commitment to education, track and field, sports and seniors activities, not only in Melfort and Star City, but also across Saskatchewan and Canada.

My parents, the late Rosa and Ken Morgan, formerly of Star City, held Verne in very high esteem as I did.

Condolence: Dear Ruth and family, We are so very sorry for your loss. I was one of Vern's math students throughout high school and your son Jim attended the same classes. Mr. Morrison was an excellent teacher. A few years later, John was instructing driver education at Star City high school and we had the pleasure of spending time with Ruth and Vern, attending staff social events and having the occasional visit together before we moved to Saskatoon. Vern was truly a wonderful family man, teacher, citizen and friend and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time of sorrow.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Mrs Morrison and the entire Morrison family.
I was lucky to have Mr Morrison for my Geometry teacher in Grade 10 in Star City in 1973. One day he was reviewing our homework and I had to tell him I never did the exercise. He said " Never say never, Mr Hughes. Never is a long time and I bet you will do it tonight" He was right. I got my highest mark in high school in his class and I always compared all my later teachers and prof's to him and they all came up short.
He had a tremendous influence on my life and I will always remember him fondly and with the greatest respect.

Condolence: Ruth and family - I first learned of Laverne through my friend, Ivan MaKay. Some of their exploits were something else. Then Laverne cam to Yellow Grass to teach. He was a great role model for both his students and fellow teachers and a good community person. We join you in your celebration of a life well lived.
