Ringling – Graveside services with military honors for Larry Dean Parker are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Joe Taylor officiating and Mike Gandy will provide the eulogy. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Larry was born to the late Mr. Wesley Lee “Tuffy” Parker and Mrs. Magdoline “Salty” (Johnson) Parker in Riverside, CA on February 19, 1942. He departed this life on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

Mr. Parker was raised in Ringling and attended Ringling Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1960. He then attended college at Murray State College and studied agriculture. Larry was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and honorably served his country. While in the Army, he was a seismographer. Mr. Parker worked up until the late 90’s at Michelin in Ardmore for over 30 years in tire building. Larry always enjoyed fishing and being with his grandkids. He felt most at home visiting with his family and friends.

Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lynda Tipps.

He survived by his son Billy Parker and wife Ruth of Ringling; daughters, Jodi Morgan and husband Mick of Coleman, OK, and Kay Shumaker of Ardmore; brother in law, Bill Tipps of Ringling; step brother, David Byrd and wife Cyd of Ft. Worth; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; nieces, Stacy Shores and husband Mark of Wilson, and Kristy Tipps of Cornish; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Randy Doss, Trevor McKibban, Mike Gandy, Jerry Gandy, Bruce Mobley, and Bob Earl Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Tipps, Dale Gore, Stanley Watkins, Mick Morgan, Terry Don Gandy, Mark Shores, and Alan Wallace.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 - 8 P.M. Friday – July 6, 2018 at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
