Obituary for
Florence P. Judd
Florence Judd (Penksa) passed away on July 2, 2018
Florence was born 90 years ago in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Caroline Penksa. Beloved wife of the late John W. Judd Jr. Dear and loving mother of John W. Judd III and his wife Deborah, loving grandmother of John W. Judd IV DPT, dear sister of Helen Lynch.
Florence worked as a nurse at the Buffalo General Hospital and at Saint Mary’s School for the Deaf. She not only cared for her patients, but for her family, neighbors, and friends. She was very active in a variety of civic, church, and school organizations. Florence was a proud 70 year long ‘Buffalonian’ moving from her hometown after her husband’s death to be close to her family. The last five years of her life were spent living at Cusack Terrace in Arlington and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her new friends there.
Florence was a fiercely independent and hard working person all of her life. During the final couple of weeks she enjoyed listening to some of her favorite music, one special song was Frank Sinatra’s: “My Way.” When listening to it’s lyrics, and with a broad smile on her face, she would close with: “Right On Frankie!” If you’d like to understand Florence, listen to that song. It really does fit her to a ‘T’
As she requested, there will be no services, and a private burial will be in Buffalo, NY.
