Obituary for Ronald Scott Crihfield
Mr. Ronald “Scott” Crihfield, age 48, a resident of George St. in Elkins, departed this life Sunday evening, July 8, 2018 following a boating accident, at Teter Creek Lake in Barbour County, WV
He was born January 29, 1970 in Elkins, WV, a son of Ronnie Lee Crihfield and Julie Faye Price. Grandson of the late Maudaline & Clinton Crihfield, Elma Lea Price, Ben & Sharon Price, and Hayward & Elsie Gainer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Jacob Dylan and Kaci Makala (Punky) Crihfield, both of Elkins, Carolyn Davis, Samantha Thorne, Crystal Capelli and Brittany Thorne, a sister, Kelly Carter (Chris) of Colorado Springs, CO. Brothers, Roger Joseph (Breann) Cross of Grafton, James Crichfield of Proctor, OH.
Also surviving are his former wife, Mary Vest, of Elkins, special aunts and uncle, Jean Price Johnson and Randall & Sheilah Crihfield, with whom he resided at special times in his life, other aunts and uncles, Rodney and Kathy Price, Michael and Pansy Price, Glenda Corley, Goff Allen, and Marie McCauley; his nephews, Gavin Carter, Alec and Arian Cross, Eli and Malachi Crichfield: his nieces, Mackenzie Thorne (Dale) Hinchman, Dylan Carter and Emma Cross. Cousins, Derek Crihfield and Twila Crihfield Gaynor, where a loving Big Brother relationship was mutual. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Mackenzie Thorne (Dale) Hinchman, Jocelyn Price, Anika Crihfield, Diamond, Rayven and Jasmine Eye, Justice Brookover and Blake Davis, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Scott was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School, class of 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S Army, having served in active duty during Operation Desert Storm. He had been employed as a pipeline worker and presently self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Belington VFW Laurel Mt. Post 410, Belington American Legion Post 96 and the Carpenters Union Local #476 of Clarksburg. He loved baseball, nascar, and hunting in his earlier years. He was known for always having some sort of carpentry project going on, but most of all Scott took great pride in his children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scott’s request for cremation will be honored and his ashes will be scattered at locations per his request. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Ronald Scott Crihfield.
