Denis Gerald Donnelly passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at Bridgepoint Health Care Centre, Toronto, in his 76th year.
Survived by one daughter Margaret, granddaughters Aliana and Elsie. He will be missed by Lliam O'Neil, the son in his heart. His brother Tom Donnelly, sister Mary Hewitt, and sister-in-law Sherry Donnelly. Denis will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Denis was predeceased by his parents, Denis and Isobel Donnelly (nee Anderson) and his brother Ernie Donnelly.

In February, he celebrated 40 years of sobriety surrounded by his friends in AA. Many of them credited Denis for helping them maintain their own sobriety. Denis worked as a nuclear operator at Bruce Nuclear in its early years, then spent several years in High Level, Alberta, before returning to Toronto. At age 50, Denis attended Windsor Law School and was called to the bar. He finished his working career at the Ontario Securities Commission in Toronto.
He loved the outdoors and spent his early years fishing at the dam and bridge in Pinkerton, and in his later years bird watching and bird photography became his passion. The odd game of pool and cards entertained him as well.

Denis will be sadly missed by many family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on the ball diamonds at the Cargill & District Community Centre.
