Marvin and Judia Osteen of Menard, Texas died within two days of each other.
Maudene Julia B. McGinty Osteen was born September 21, 1930, went home on August 19, 2018, in Eden, Texas. She was a month and two days shy of her 88th birthday. Marvin Lee Osteen was born July 2, 1928. He went home in San Angelo, Texas on August 22, 2018. Marvin was a World War II and Korean War veteran. Marvin was a Master Mason in Ft. McKavett Lodge 750 and a Past Master at Lindsev #292 in Timbo, Arkansas. Both were active members of Eastern Star in Ft. McKavett. Marvin and Judy met on a blind date and that day they were married, October 22, 1947. They had traveled the globe to see family and for vacation. Both were very loved and always had amazing stories to tell.
They were both preceded in death by their parents and Marvin was preceded by all his siblings. Judy was the last daughter of her family and proceeded in death by a couple of grandchildren and a few great grandchildren.
Survivors include Judy’s younger brother Robert “Bobby” Edwin McGinty, Roxeana Osteen Kimmel and husband John, their 2 children and 1 spouse, and 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Michael Lee Osteen and wife Dale, their 5 children, 2 spouses and 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Rexine Osteen Killam and husband Paul; and their 3 children and 1 grandchild. Granddaughter/caregiver JuLee Kathryn Osteen Marchetti and husband Dominic, and their 3 children, 2 spouses, 5 grandchildren.
Many beloved relatives and friends, Marvin and Julie B. will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Menard, with Reverend Scott Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. McKavett Cemetery and pot luck reception will follow.
