The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Jarvis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Robin Jaffe-Hopkins
Condolence: Hello. I didn't really know Dave, but Janis and Bob did. The had great respect for you. I thought of this poem for you. I only rememberef the first line but found the rest when I looked it up. Here it is;

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me."

With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

I'm sure you are surrounded by your loved ones past.

Condolence From: Bob White
Condolence: Dave, I have known you since I was 11 years old when my sister, Jo, introduces you are her future husband. Through all the years, you have been more than a brother-in-law, you have been a friend. As Janis wrote, we enjoyed our visits with you. Your picture will always be on our wall and your memory will always live in our hearts.

Condolence: We will always miss you, Dave. We'll miss our visits with you no matter where you were staying. We'll miss your tales of days gone by and there were many. You had a great memory for those and loved telling them. We won't ever forget how you and Jo would say that you never argue, an impossibility for most married couples. Whenever we make the White family green jello veggie salad, I will remember how much you enjoyed eating it, along with a slice or two of smoked turkey and enough cranberry sauce on the side. We'll never forget your stories about the others you lived with like the hilarious story about the eggs. You were a practical and hands on type of man who could fix almost anything. You watched TV to stay current on what was happening and you liked talking about the news with Bob. You had great hair, sparkling soft blue eyes, common sense and you were respected by many. You could say what's on your mind without hesitation. You appreciated the kindness of others and didn't hesitate to let people know even if it was with a silent handshake. You were a very brave and honourable man with a heart of gold and I'm so grateful to have had you in my life. Love, Janis
