Nancy Jo Sherry, a longtime resident of Port Matilda, passed away on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at her home. She was born April 27, 1937 in Bellefonte PA, the daughter of the late Paul William Beardslee and Ruth (Fisher) Beardslee.
She is survived by her three children: Timothy Sherry (Julian), Catherine Smith (Centre Hall) and Linda Algeria and her husband Steve (Mill Creek). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Sarah Sherry, Lynn Kincaid, Jamie Smith, Tina Hall, Jason Sherry, Erik Burger, Elizabeth Burger and Emily Burger, and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Janet Ivicic of Bellefonte.
Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She was a dedicated nurse at Mount Nittany Medical Center in the Cardiac Care Unit.
Her retirement was filled with loving times spent with family, grandchildren and friends.
She was a member of the Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church, Port Matilda. A visitation will be held at the Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church at 1776 Halfmoon Valley Road in Port Matilda, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 9-11am. Services immediately following with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the charity of your choice.
