Son in Love

Another Angel that our Heavenly Father has called to His perfect and everlasting rest and peace.

Deb and I were blessed to have her mom with us for 10 Months. Even though she was fighting dementia, Some of the talks about her life and travels were awesome. We talked about traveling from Mobile to California and other places the family lived while Mr. Oatis was in the service.

She went to church with us every Sunday and loved to hear the choir sing. On these days it seemed as if she had some extra spunk. When we got back home and after lunch, she would often want to get up on her own and walk without her walker to the bathroom.

She used to get her nails done at a place that really treated her well. When she was ready to leave one day I asked, "Mom how are you feeling?" She said say "Beautiful." She would say that also after her massage.

She would go to Russell's middle school team events and watch him coach. The highlight was when his team won the first tournament ever, brand new middle school, and he coached the B team. He was so proud and ran over and gave her a hug and she just beamed.

One day while I was sitting with her while Deb was out, she asked me "Bobby why are you caring for me? I am not your mother." I said, "Mom I love you like my mother." The smile on her face was so precious. I wish I could have caught it with a camera.

We miss you so much mom!
