Goldie Mae Washburn, age 92 of Milford, beloved wife of the late George Washburn, passed away Friday September 21, 2018 at West River Healthcare Center of Milford. Goldie was born in Raleigh, NC, July 7, 1926, daughter of the late Herman and Beulah Jacobs Austin. She was the office manager for a manufacturing firm in Milford, CT before retiring and was a Deaconess for Grace Baptist Church of Milford. Goldie enjoyed cooking big meals and having the family over. She is survived by her sons Donald Washburn and his wife Linda of Milford and Jeffrey Washburn and his wife Catherine of Sandy Hook, her granddaughter Ammerisa Massey and her husband Chris, and her great-granddaughter Vera Grace Massey. Calling hours are Monday September 24, 2018 from 10am to noon at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. A funeral service with Rev. Kenneth Fellenbaum officiating will follow at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford.
