Carol L. Haldeman, 61, of Akron, PA, formerly of Leola, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, September 21, 2018 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Lois Geisler Landis of Lititz and the late Thomas M. Landis who died Thursday, September 20. She and her husband, Dennis R. Haldeman, celebrated their 27th marriage anniversary on January 12.

Carol was a faithful member of Conestoga Church of the Brethren in Leola where she was church treasurer, sang in the choir, and served on the nursery school ministry team. She was employed as a bookkeeper and office manager by various employers, including several years for her father’s business, Landis Garage, in Lancaster. Her hobbies included antiquing, gardening, taking walks, and bicycling.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Kevin E., husband of Sheryl M. Musser Holland, of Lititz, and Robert M. Holland of Washington, DC; two grandchildren, Matthew and Julia Holland; a brother, Robert, husband of Claire Landis, of Lancaster; and parents-in-law, Robert G. and Viola M. Decker Haldeman, of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Conner M. Holland.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Conestoga Church of the Brethren, 141 East Main Street, Leola, PA with Pastor Jere Cassel officiating. Private interment will be in Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.
