Obituary for Norma Jeanne Deaner (Woltman)

Norma Jeanne Deaner passed away on September 21, 2018 at Oneida Health Care, Oneida, NY.
She was born July 8, 1927 in Michigan City, IN. Norma graduated as the Salutatorian from New Buffalo High School in 1945. She attended Morrisville College and graduated as an RN at the age of fifty. Norma worked at the Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton for over twenty years. She also volunteered at Heritage Farm in Hamilton and at the ARC. Norma lived in Morrisville for many years, then she moved to Lake Moraine for over 30 years, and for the past 10 years she lived at Brookdale in Clinton with her cat, and companion, Simon, a British Short Hair.
Norma was an avid member of the Morrisville Community Church and belonged to the Wednesday Club. She loved traveling and visited many countries as well as many places in the United States. Her hobbies included but were not limited to playing the piano, sewing, teaching exercise classes, knitting, embroidery etc.
She leaves behind five children, Christine Deaner Crandall, Oneida, NY, Robin Ernst, Naples, FL, Janice Deaner, Manhattan, NY, Sandra Peckham, Doylestown, PA, and Monte Deaner, Bouckville, NY; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
By Norma’s request, there will be no calling hours. Her family will hold a private memorial service in Norma’s honor. Please consider donations to Dementia and Alzheimer’s research and awareness. Norma was loved and will be missed; may she rest in peace.
