With great sadness the family announces the passing of Ronald Asselin 64 of Atikokan, Ontario on Monday September 24, 2018 at the Atikokan General Hospital with his family by his side.

Ron was born on April 14, 1954 in Atikokan Ontario to parents Edward and Greta (nee Miniely) Asselin.

Ron & Suzan were childhood sweethearts and united in marriage July 2, 1976. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Nicole and Angela, enjoyed memorable times with close friends Kevin and Barb Marusyk on “misadventures and shenanigans”. Many good times with Patsy & Philip Johnston were spent travelling to Panama, playing cards and memorable pool parties. Ron was an avid barbecuer, beer connoisseur & traveller. He loved to tease and never backed away from a challenge. Ron had a big and infectious personality. His goal in life was to make people laugh.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Greta Asselin, wife Suzan, his children, Nicole Bingham (Son In Law, Mark Bingham), Angela Asselin (Son In Law, Shawn Anderson), Grandchildren Marni Bingham, Shawnté Anderson, Cael Anderson, Jaida Anderson & Joel Bingham, his brother Randy Asselin (Sharon Valila), Niece Michelle Asselin, sister Cheryl James (Kevin Shmyr), niece Amanda James.

Ron was predeceased by his father Edward Asselin.

As per Ron's wishes a private family gathering will take place in his memory. Honorary Pallbearers are his brother Randy Asselin, Son In Laws, Mark Bingham & Shawn Anderson, close friends, David Drobot, Kevin Marusyk and Philip Johnston. If desired immemorial donations may be made in Ron's memory to the Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto or London c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0
