WALTER REIMER
February 11, 1936 – September 25, 2018
On September 25, 2018 Dad, at age 82, quietly passed away with his loving wife at his side.
Walter was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Katie (Krueger) Reimer, his brother Paul, niece Donna Delorme and nephew David Reimer. Left to mourn his loss and cherish fond memories are his wife of 56 years Carole, his daughter Michele, son Garth (Cheri), three grandsons: Stephen Wood, Brooks and Carter Reimer as well as his siblings: Elsie, Ernie and Hilda and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
‘Wally’ retired from the City of Winnipeg as an administrator in the works and operations department in 1994 and enjoyed the better part of his 25-year retirement, which he shared with Carole as they explored numerous holiday destinations, and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Dad was always the guy you turned to if you had a problem; he could “fix” almost anything, he wasn’t afraid of hard work and did work very hard to support his family.
The family wishes to thank Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home and staff for their loving support and care. Wally and Carole spent many peaceful moments enjoying Bathania’s gardens and ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ‘Well Project’ at Bethania. This redevelopment project of the pond and gardens provides a tranquil environment for residents and their families.
In reverence to Wally’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
