Ronnie Ray Richardson, 81, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with our Lord on September 26, 2018 at his home. He was born in Monteague, Texas to Aubrey Richardson and Irene Haynes Fox on January 10, 1937. He was proceeded in death by his father Aubrey, his mother Irene, his son Kurt Ray O’Neil Richardson, and his first wife Linda Arlene Burroughs. Ronnie is survived by his wife Jo Beth Richardson of San Angelo, Texas; his sister Floyedelle Jones of Palestine, Texas; his son Marcus and his wife Tammy Richardson of Donner, Louisiana; his step-daughter Tammy and her husband Scott O’Neal of San Angelo, Texas; and his step-son Jason Turner of San Angelo, Texas. His grandchildren April Richardson Caropepe, Sarah and Christopher Richardson, Austin Turner, Delaney, Owen and Truett O’Neal, and his great-grandchildren RaeDawn and Sky Richardson.
Ronnie enlisted in the US Navy on June 16, 1954 where he served until June 15, 1962. He married Linda Burroughs on May 19, 1958 and together they had two sons, Kurt and Marcus. He inherited Fifty’s Rentals on East 19th Street from his father and ran it for 15 years. After selling the business, he went on to work as the groundskeeper at the San Angelo State School in 1975 where he met Jo Beth and they were married November 19, 1990. He retired from the San Angelo State School in 1997. Ronnie was known and loved throughout his community. He always greeted you with a smile, a firm handshake, and a quick joke. He had a kind and giving heart and was willing to help anyone in need. Ronnie had many hobbies and interests including Cushman Scooters, RC airplanes, restoring old boats and vehicles, music, homing pigeons, and fishing. He was happiest when he was on the water or working in his shop. Ronnie was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10 A.M. at Grape Creek Baptist Church.
