Boyce Nolan Burkes, 82 years, was born October 22, 1935 to William Boyce Burkes and Evelyn Hensley Burkes. Services are Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 3:00pm at Forgiven Ministries 2900 W. FM 2105, San Angelo, Texas.
Nolan Burkes married Wondean (Dee) Ponder on September 7, 1955. They were married 60 years. During those beautiful years they had four children. Brenda Ann Williams, Garry Wayne Burkes (deceased), Christine Bain, William Roy (Billy) Burkes.
He is survived by his grandkids Lora Ann and spouse Norman Fisher, Michael Shawn and spouse Capri Williams, Tanya Re’Nee Bain, Eric Wayne Bain. His great grandchildren Braydon Alexander Fisher, Gavin Tyler King, Nathanial (Nate) Allen Williams, KatiAnn Thorn, Taylor West Lawson, John Wayne (JW) Bain (deceased). Several great grandchildren, and many friends that are family.
Nolan has two brothers and six sisters. Nolan was a hard worker- laborer, truck driver and worked for Concho Crete for twenty three years before retiring.
Some of his favorite things to was fishing, watching the birds, growing the best vegetable gardens, feeding his dogs, cats, birds and chickens. Nolan loved giving his dogs treat bones all day long. He also loved hearing the laugher of kids playing and loved playing with the children. Nolan lived a very happy life, joyful and fulfilled life with his family and many friends. He never met a stranger and knew someone everywhere he went.
