Longtime local resident, Maxine Florence Ice, age 88 passed away on September 25, 2018 in Portland, Oregon following a brief illness.
Maxine was born August 29, 1930 in Mullinville, Kansas to Bev Lewis and Alpha (Cottrell) McClaren. She was a graduate of Pritchett High School. Maxine married Robert (Bob) Leo Ice in Raton New Mexico on October 3, 1951 and they made Canon City their home in 1952.
Maxine was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed family, gardening, traveling, hunting, camping and fishing. In Canon City, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Maxine is survived by her brother, Dale (Quin) McClaren; daughter, Judy (Al) Marshall; son, Stephen (Margaret) Ice and granddaughter, Emily Ice.
Maxine was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 63 years; a son, John Robert Ice; sister, Waundia (McClaren) Ellis; four brothers, Leland McClaren, John McClaren, Vernon McClaren, and Meredith McClaren.
Viewing is from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Monday October 1, 2018 at Holt Family Funeral Home with Graveside Services following at 2 p.m. at Mountain Vale Cemetery.
