Condolence From: Steve L. Reist
Condolence: My name I Steve Reist. I went to the same high school as Dwayne. Much of my memories of Dwayne are centered around the period of time that I worked at Don's Super Market in Oberlin, Kansas. My memories of this outstanding man are borne with a warm heart as I say here and now that Dwayne was most upright inspiring person I have EVER known in my 77 years. His positive character and outlook with personal regard of all is beyond of my power to express today.
No matter how tired and stressed we were, he always had a smile, whistled a tune, and was a team player every step of the way.
Dwayne was a strong Christian and as such did receive some "short remarks" from those who did not appreciate or understand. I remember when he bought the 1959 Pontiac. He was so understandably proud of it. But..then some springs broke and it could have hurt them if driving under some conditions. When one of the co workers told him that his "Jesus" should not have let that happen, Dwayne replied that it was "Jesus" that saved the day from not having a 'worse' incident. That was his constant, positive, Christian attitude.
I did listen to him and can HERE AND NOW tell you that I received Christ in a meeting with him I will always remember. He was with me the night I went 'forward' in their church. I hope his family finds great consolation in the nature of his work, both professional and personal.
Dwayne and Twila were so wonderful together. I remember seeing their car drive down main street the day they were married with all the other honkers following.
