Gerald Wayne McFadden, longtime Muskogee resident died Saturday September 29, 2018. He was 82.
Born January 20, 1936 he was the son of Jesse Mathew and Leila Inez (Swanson) McFadden. He graduated from Muskogee Central High School. He went on to his earn degrees from Northeastern State University. He later returned to Bacone College earning degree in nursing. He was the Valedictorian of his class at Bacone. One of his pastimes was coaching baseball and basketball at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Muskogee. He had also umpired many of the games.
Gerald worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for many years, starting as a case worker and moving up to District Supervisor at the time of his retirement. He was a 51 year member of the Muskogee Masonic Lodge #28 and the Bedouin Shrine.
Surviving are his son Mark McFadden and wife Donna of Muskogee; his granddaughter, whom he helped care for when she was little, Jessica McFadden; wife Joan McFadden of Muskogee; two sisters, Margaret McFadden of Muskogee and Dixie Hawthorne of Chicago and nieces Connie Northrop and Pati Hoffman both of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee. Interment will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael T. Harden, Matthew Harden, John Cooper, Greg Schuler, Gary Dunlap and Kim Crissler.
