Bruce C. Donaldson died in his home surrounded by love and his boisterous family on 09/29/2018 in Canisteo, NY.
Bruce was born April 26, 1951, in Somers, NY to Robert Sr. and Marguerite Donaldson. In his late teens, the Donaldson’s relocated to Fairport, NY, and Bruce resided in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier the remainder of his life.
While in 2003, Bruce settled in Canisteo, NY, he had spent his life traveling the continental United States and Canada making people's lives easier as one of the most appreciated and talented owner-operators to ever drive a big rig. Bruce always called driving a truck his longest summer job, which started in 1973 and he kept right up until June 2018.
Bruce was a terrific mover, but his passion lay in being a lifelong learner of metaphysics, alternative therapies, and spiritualism. He enriched countless lives by sharing his knowledge with loved ones and strangers alike through tarot card readings, officiating weddings, and philosophical discussions.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda (Japp) Donaldson; mother Marguerite (Marge) Donaldson of Fairport; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Jason Kern of Colorado Springs, CO; his siblings and their spouses, Robert Jr. and Jacqui Donaldson (Pawling, NY); Cheryl and John VanLare (Rochester, NY); Lori and Bill Shaw (Penfield, NY); David (Fairport, NY); Linda and Marty Butler (Hornell, NY); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr.
Bruce requested to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Club in Hornell on October 13, 2018 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Bruce requested you buy yourself a good beer, but if you must send flowers, send them to his wife, Linda. She loves them.
