Allen R. Schoenster, age 79, of Milford passed away on October 2, 2018 in Branford, CT. He was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY on February 13, 1939 to the late Henry and Anne Schoenster. Owner of Collins Flower Shoppe with his wife, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Madeline (Sam) Rink Schoenster, his dedicated children Michael Schoenster and his wife Ann, daughter Danette Contaras and her husband Daniel, all of Milford, his brother Robert Schoenster and his wife Doy, grandchildren Alyson, Michael Jr., Christopher, and D.J, five great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Marge Schoenster many nieces and nephews and longtime friends especially his pal Mary Daher. Allen will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting and being a “Life Member” of the Milford Elks. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother John Schoenster and dear friends Ted Hoffman and Roger McNeil. Per Allen’s wishes Michael and Danette will be hosting “Dad’s Happy Hour” in his honor on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm in the Milford Elks’ Hall, 124 New Haven Ave., Milford.
