THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF MAUREEN NORRIS WILKAS

THOMASTON- Maureen Norris Wilkas, age 58 of Thomaston, passed away peacefully at home with her devoted husband and family by her side on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was the wife of James Wilkas.

Maureen was born on February 11, 1960 in Waterbury, the daughter of Shirley (Houle) Norris Lawlor of Watertown and the late John Norris. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Suffolk University in Boston and her Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University.

Maureen was an accomplished attorney with her own practice and was very involved in her community. She and her husband Jim were Co-Chairs of “Light up Thomaston” for many years. Maureen loved home design and decorating of all types, but was especially fond of the Christmas season. She began her incredible decorating in early October, and once had a Christmas tree in every window of her home. She loved the holidays with family and friends. Maureen loved her yellow lab Seymour, who cuddled her, sometimes for long periods, during times of recuperation. She was also an avid traveler, loved just going on long drives with her husband in their English sports car “Miss Daisy”, and visiting Disney World and Disney's Wilderness Lodge as often as possible. Maureen was one of the most generous, kindest, sweetest people with an amazingly loving, giving heart, willing to help anyone in a moment's notice. She was always there for whoever was in need.

Besides her husband and best friend of 21 years, Jim, and her Mom, Maureen leaves her step-son, Daniel Wilkas and his wife, Nathalie of Panama City FL, her stepfather; Edward Lawlor of Watertown and her brothers; Mark Norris and his wife, Maureen of Naugatuck, and Timothy Norris and his wife, Anne of Bantam and Neil Holland a close family friend as well as her nieces and nephew; Stephanie, David and Jessica Norris.
