Dora Grace Taylor
With sadness, the family of Dora Grace Taylor of Carstairs announce her passing September 27, 2018 at the age of 87 years. She was born February 7, 1931 at Castor, AB to William and Annie Marie (Yost) Spady. They resided in Castor until 1947 and then moved to the family farm in Carstairs. Dora attended high school in Carstairs and graduated from Crescent Heights in Calgary. She worked various jobs in Medicine Hat, Red Deer and then as a bank teller at the Bank of Montreal in Carstairs. Dora was married to her love Harvey Taylor in 1962 and lived her life on the farm until taking residence at the Chinook Winds Lodge in Carstairs and later Bethany Didsbury. Dora had a great love for Jesus, her family, music and gardening. Dora is predeceased by her husband Harvey Taylor, her brothers Reuben and Raymond Spady and sisters Hannah Spady and Alma Spady. Surviving her are her children: Gail and Wayne Bales of Carstairs, Joyce and Jeff Williams of Carstairs, June and Kevin Duncalfe of Sylvan Lake, Richard Taylor and Joyce King of Carstairs, Kerry and Shauna Taylor of Carstairs; grandchildren, Brent Bales, Renay Bales, Taylor and Devin Johnson, Cassie and Mitchell Machacek, Courtney Williams, Jason Duncalfe, Ryan and Michelle Duncalfe, Tim Taylor, Nathan Taylor and Nicole Taylor; as well as three great grandchildren, Lacy, Chloe and William Johnson. We as a family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Seniors’ Housing (Olds and Carstairs) and the Bethany Didsbury for the love and care shown to Mom. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Living Hope Community Church in Carstairs, AB with Pastor Lance Duncalfe officiating.
