God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best

Janet Lynne Burnett, age 52 of Newcastle, Ontario, sadly passed away on
Wednesday October 3rd surrounded by loved ones. Daughter of William Henry Marshall,
Pontypool Ont. & Sandra Dawn Williams, Hunstville Ontario.
Loving Mother of Paul Burnett Jr, 26 and Jaccob Burnett, 21.

Janet attended Grandview Public School, followed by Millbrook High School,
where she was a member of the ski and debate teams. She could always write
a great argument for a debate, and proved to be a tough competitor.
Janet attended Durham College where she studied to be a legal secretary,
although never pursued this as a career. (She very quickly decided after her years
at college that she really did not enjoy the menial tasks the filing and typing...
Her spirit proved to be far to free to be tied down to a 9 to 5 desk job.

Janet found her long-time career in various positions at General Motors
in Oshawa, following in her father’s footsteps. Janet easily made friends wherever she
went. She had the best sense of humour, an infectious laugh and an amazing smile.
She also had a keen eye for the latest fashion trends, and for those who knew her and
shopped with her, they probably have something in their closet that she convinced them to
buy!

Being a mother was her most important position in life, and her boys
Paul and Jaccob certainly were front and center. Family and friends were
Janet’s passion and delight, and for all that knew her, she brought laughter,
joy, unconditional friendship and love.

She grew up with her sister Donna on their family farm, where they spent many
hours around the barn, grooming and riding horses, and just getting into some good
old fashioned trouble. She loved her mare Belle, and still reminisced about her,
remembering the fun times riding her.

Janet is survived by her sister Donna, Her father's wife Yusmary, her cousins Becky, Murray, Cathy, Paul,
Karen & Gary, along with her Aunt Heather & Uncle Ted,
Aunt Bev & Uncle John, Aunt Mary & Uncle Bruce, and all her loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Newcastle Pentecostal Church,
whom we thank for their generosity and support during this difficult time.
