Sara Confer Breon, 91, of Bellefonte passed quietly from this earth on October 7, 2018 at the Mount Nittany Hospital. She was born on September 28, 1927 to the late George H. and Anna Sager Confer.
During her senior year at Bellefonte High School, she was one of 2 girls selected by the Bell Telephone Company to work as a telephone operator and remained in that position until her retirement.
On March 8, 1947, she married Thomas J. Breon who survives at home. After retirement, she and Tom decided to travel and visited several places in Europe, Alaska, Hawaii and many times to Myrtle Beach , South Carolina. She also loved working crossword puzzles and making holiday plastic canvas creations assuring each member of the family had their supply.
Sara is survived by her children, Carol (Timothy)Bechdel of Mackeyville and Thomas Breon II of Bellefonte. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Jami (Thadd) Richards, Jay (Nikki) Bechdel, Adam (Christine) Bechdel, and Grant (Angela) Bechdel, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald L. Confer, and her 4 sisters, Caroline (Charles) Newman, Betty (Paul) Fanning, June (Ralph) Bartley, and Patricia (Joseph) Evock.
