John A. Rung of Delevan, NY died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his residence at the age of 90.
He was born June 2, 1928 in Sardinia, NY a son of George and Clarabelle (nee Finger) Rung. He was a member of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Springville where he served as a past Elder. He had also received his GED.
John was a farmer and owned and operated his own farm, Hy-Tyme Farm. He was also a past janitor for the Pioneer Central Schools.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia (Butler) Rung whom he married April 3, 1948 in Sardinia; his children: James (Jodi) Rung of Naples, NY, Gary (Margie) Rung of Arcade, Curtis (Susan) Rung of Friendship, Dennis (Barbara Cyburt) Rung of Mayville and Ken (Melody) Rung of Delevan; also survived by 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents who raised him in Springville - Russel and Pearl Miller; his sons: John A. Rung and Jeff E. Rung; his siblings: Elliott Rung, Elwyn Rung, Charles "Dick" Rung, Emory Rung, Norma Schawnne and William "Russ" Rung.
Friends may call Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St,. Arcade where a Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM. Pastor Paul Jenkins will officiate. Interment will be held in Sardinia Cemetery.
