Richard E Vaccaro, a longtime resident of Roslyn, passed away Tuesday October 23, 2018 at home surrounded his loving family at the age of 85.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a corporal during the Korean War. He loved baseball and after serving in the military went onto join the US Hobo Baseball team.
After 40 years of employment from Sears Roebuck and Co., where he was a warehouse Supervisor, he retired to enjoy his passions: Gardening and enjoying watching his grandchildren grow.
Born February 25, 1933 in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Michael and Adeline (Nocella) Vaccaro.
Richard is Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rose (Mamrol) Vaccaro; one Brother; Edward Vaccaro of Norristown; two children, Susan M.(Vaccaro) Roberts of Reading and Richard M. Vaccaro and wife Patricia Vaccaro of Warminster; Four grandchildren Kristen Blando, Mark Roberts, Stephanie Lutz and Alyssa Vaccaro; two great children; Zoey Blando and Lilly Lutz.
Richard’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Interment will follow in Holy Sepulcher Cemmentary in Cheltenham.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
