Services for Hinson Montpelier will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Lake Lilly Baptist Church, Jonesville, LA, with Pastor Frank Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.

Hinson Montpelier was born on Christmas Eve in 1931. He grew up in Jonesville where he realized his love for fishing. In 1951 he joined the United States Navy. During the Korean War he served on the USS Whetstone. While stationed in San Diego, CA, he met Joyce and they married in 1954; they had 2 daughters. Hinson worked for Western Gear as a machinist for 27 years before retiring. In 1982 he moved back to Jonesville where he went to work for CMI and The Fish Net Company. Hinson also had a deep love for gardening.

Hinson will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Joyce; his children, Marsaida (Fernando) Gamez of California, Sandy (Lonnie) Clevenger of Oregon. Four grandchildren, Charity Smith, Troy (Sarah) Clevenger, Melinda and Megan Gamez. Two great grandchildren, Nathan and Keegan Clevenger and one sister, Glendon White of Gulfport, MS.

Pallbearers will be Fernando Gamez, Lonnie Clevenger, Junior Hernandez, Dwayne Harris, Less McCartney and James Williamson.
